To train the next generation of experts in Actionable Performance Intelligence, and to provide decision makers with the tools and knowledge to build sustainable and inclusive healthcare and welfare systems with a significant impact throughout Europe and beyond. With this mission in mind, HealthIntelAct was born, a research initiative funded by the Horizon Europe program as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Doctoral Networks, formed by a network that includes the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Amsterdam UMC (Netherlands), Optimedis (Germany), Aalborg University Hospital (Denmark), the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest (Romania), the Ministry of Health and Social Security of Luxembourg (Luxembourg), the National Institute of Public Health (Slovenia), and the University of Oxford (United Kingdom). On February 13 and 14, the HealthIntelAct consortium met in Amsterdam for the official launch of activities.

The core of the project

At the heart of HealthIntelAct are 17 fellows pursuing Ph.D. trajectories, each working on groundbreaking research projects focused on critical challenges within three key areas that are People, Planet, and Prosperity. These interdisciplinary projects, involving different countries and sectors, aim to develop solutions for inclusive, sustainable and resilient healthcare systems.

The Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna will host two Ph.D. students in the Health Science, Technology and Management programme under the supervision of Prof. Sabina Nuti:

Fellow 5: Study on proximity care models to improve access to health services in remote areas.
